PUSO hasn’t had large attendance this semester, but it has a steady group of members who usually show up. I personally enjoy hearing what the Filipino students are up to since the culture has a history that intersects with that of Latino culture, since both the Philippines and Latin-America were colonized by the Spanish. This has been apparent as I hear of the different foods they’ve been making, some of which have the same name as a Latino equivalent (my own family has a Mexican version of champorado and arroz caldo.)
I’ve been enjoying attending PUSO’s meetings and look forward to seeing more of them this semester.
